Webinar on “Defamation in the Age of Social Media – What you need to know”
With the ever-growing utilisation of social media, encountering defamation is no longer as arduous as it used to be. Isaac recently delivered a webinar for Lex Omnibus on defamation law, where he explained the significance of this area of law through the case of Stocker v Stocker [2019] UKSC 17. He also introduced the remedies and defences available, such as justification, consent, privilege etc. To specifically tackle this issue in the era of social media, Isaac talked about the definition and use of social media in detail, along with the accompanying challenges illustrated by the case study.
