Edward specialises in private client matters, with a particular focus on wills and probate, trust, and land law. He also possesses extensive expertise in commercial law, arbitration, company law, and commercial fraud.
For land law and trusts, Edward has advised in complicated multigenerational will-trusts, landlord-tenant disputes, multistorey building disputes, Chinese customary law and Chinese temples.
Edward has advised on a wide range of high-value contentious and non-contentious matters. This also include international commercial disputes including disputes between Korean, Chinese, German and American companies. Edward has been engaged in high value insolvency matters, shareholder disputes and insurance matters.
In the field of arbitration, Edward has handled cases under the ICC, HKIAC, and ad hoc UNCITRAL model law rules, with experience in complex international multiparty commercial disputes.
Edward is an accomplished legal scholar and practitioner. He serves as the Head of the Land Law course for the LLB and JD programmes at City University of Hong Kong. He is also a visiting lecturer in the University of Law, Kazakhstan University, and Wrexham University teaching contract, company, commercial and employment law.

· represented the majority shareholder in a dispute over the conduct and management of a joint venture operating in the concrete industry in northeast China (Emergency arbitrator proceedings, HKIAC Rules).
· represented the subsidiary of one of the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Korea in a multi-jurisdictional cryptocurrency dispute. Part of the dispute involved whether the Hong Kong Court has jurisdiction over the matter (ICC Rules).
· cross-border contractual dispute involving a loan agreement and share transfer agreement of RMB$15m, part of the dispute concerns pathological clause.
· represented the subsidiary of a publicly listed company in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, resisted a claim of US$800k on license agreement dispute over alleged misuse and overuse of software (ICC Rules).
· represented one of the largest media and streaming company in Korea in a contractual dispute over delivery of equipment with a claim of US$500k (HKIAC Rules).
