Owen is a practising barrister having commenced full practice in 2020 after completion of pupillage with Mr. Duncan Percy, Mr. Ernest Koo, Mr. Y.L. Cheung and Mr. Gary Soo. During his pupillage, he had an emphasis in civil practice including personal injury, land law, probate and trust matters, building management and construction law while still maintained extensive experience in criminal matters at different levels of Court.


Owen has appeared and represented clients in his own right in a wide range of civil matters including sales of goods disputes, tenancy disputes, family ancillary relief, mareva injunction, solicitor-client taxation, employment disputes, money lender disputes, defamation disputes and public law administrative appeal.


On the criminal side, Owen has frequent instructions to appear for bail application and mitigation. Owen has, in his own right, conducted trials in triad society offences, driving offences, immigration offences, fraud offences etc.. He has also appeared as sole advocate in the High Court for magistracy appeal.


Owen also has extensive experience as a junior appearing in Court with other members of the bar, conducting trials and all kinds of substantive hearings in different levels of Court. Owen accepts instructions in both civil and criminal matters.


Apart from work, Owen has experience in teaching and judging mock trial/ moots. He was a guest lecturer on dispute resolution/ mediation at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was also a tutor of The Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong and has been a guest judge and speaker for Hong Kong Schools Mooting and Mock Trial Association sharing his experience in the Magistrates’ Court with both law students and secondary school students who are interested in legal industry.


Owen is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He is capable of drafting and conducting hearings in both English and Chinese.
